THE THERAPEUTIC SESSIONS WE OFFER?
Below is a brief description of what each natural therapy session we offer as part of our drug rehabilitation treatment and how they help the body to heal and how they help the body to heal and become more healthy.
High Energy Bodywork / Psychedelic Bodywork
This is a special deep tissue massage technique in which intense physical and psychic pressure is applied on certain acupuncture points in the body. This work allows the client access to deeper levels of consciousness. They can enter into what feels like a dream state while they are awake. This work reduces the blockages in the Energy Field that drugs create and also releases relevant emotions providing an opportunity to process unresolved feelings. The technique draws upon Eastern techniques such as Shiatsu (a pressure point therapy developed in Japan), Tui-na from China but also the new Energy Medicine of the West.
Post-drug Counselling
Many drug-users have been programmed to believe that what they have done was wrong and a mistake and they lack self-worth. It is crucial to reverse this programming to recover fully. We offer an exciting and adventurous new counselling approach to reverse negative thinking about your past and identify the seeds of creation from the general destruction that drugs create. We allow people to understand the true nature of their relationship with drugs and show them how to use past drug experiences as a tool to offer insight into themselves and their destiny.
Traditional Chinese Medicine / acupuncture, herbs and Tui-na
TCM is the foundation of many forms of complementary medicine currently used in the West. It treats the person not the condition and is based on the concept of Ying and Yang. These must be balanced to achieve health and well being. We offer Tui-na, which is the traditional pressure point massage developed thousands of years ago in China. It is designed to reduce blockages in the energy field and allow Chi or energy to flow freely again (this is what drugs do as well but they create worse blockages). We also offer acupuncture which uses very thin needles inserted into the acupuncture points or energy centers to allow the Chi energy to circulate in the body, which in turn, stimulates the healing process.
Qi Gong
Qi Gong is defined as energy cultivation or working with the life energy. It is an ancient Chinese system (5000 – 7000 years old) of postures, exercises and breathing techniques carried out in a meditative state. Qi Gong is designed to improve and enhance the body's Chi or fundamental life energy, which is responsible for your health and vitality. Qi Gong improves blood circulation and enhances immune function. It is an increasingly popular aspect of Chinese medicine. Qigong is mostly used for health maintenance purposes, but there are also some who teach it in China for therapeutic interventions.
Meditation
For selected clients we can offer a cutting-edge new meditative technique based on VCM (Vibrant Celestial Meditation). VCM was developed by Bhai Sahib Kirpal Singh Ji Gill and originated in Transcendental Meditation (TM) a movement under the leadership of the Maharishi (the guru of the Beatles). But VCM differs to TM primarily in that the meditation is done standing as opposed to sitting. It is a technique for accelerated spiritual advancement. It is a set of tools and methodologies that sharpen the mind, awaken the sub-conscious and super-conscious mind, optimize the use of the human conscious mind, awaken the dormant Kundalini or the power also called the Holy Spirit or Dath Para Shakti, for achievement of Turiya puth the fourth state of Transcendence. It does generate state of euphoria and bliss but for ex-drug users, is most effective as an integrated part of our holistic recovery programs.
Holotropic Breathwork
Holotropic Breathwork is a technique developed by Stanislav Grof, a researcher instrumental in the early LSD therapy work. The method combines deep breathing and relaxation with music in a comfortable environment that allows access to non-ordinary states of consciousness. It is an approach to healing that integrates elements of psychology, anthropology, Eastern spiritual practices and many other mystical traditions. The state the technique generates activates the natural inner healing process of the individual.
Kinesiology
Kinesiology is a system of diagnosis and treatment developed in 1964. It is based on the idea that muscle groups share energy pathways with internal organs and therefore, every organ dysfunction is discoverable in a related muscle. Testing muscles for relative strength and tone taps into the body's innate intelligence and enables practitioners to detect specific dysfunctions. Muscle testing is also used to find products that disturb the patient's well being but can also be used to find the appropriate natural medicine.
YOGA
Yoga creates a union of Body/Mind/Spirit.
Yoga is an ancient practise over 3000 years old which originated in India and
Incorporates a series of poses, postures, breathing techniques, concentration and focused
exercises aimed at creating a Vital Body Mind and Spirit. Where the Chinese practices
work with Chi, yogic practices work with the equivalent Universal Life force called Prana. The yogic practices enhance the ones Life force by allowing it to flow freely through the body, and through regular yoga practice, codes of conduct (Yamas) and
personal disciplines (Niyamas) harmony, balance and wellbeing are created, and
the individual is influenced positively on many levels. With regular practice, the increased physical vitality, emotional stability and clarity of mind, which yoga brings, will ultimately lead to a deeper experience and understanding of oneself.
